Yeast fermented malt beverage.
An alcoholic beverage containing 2-6% alcohol by volume, derived from cereal grains through the brewing process.
Beer is an alcoholic drink made by fermenting malted barley, water, and hops. The barley is moistened and allowed to sprout before being dried and mixed with water and hops. Yeast is added, and the mixture is left to ferment before being filtered and packaged. The flavor, color, and strength of beer can vary greatly depending on the type of beer and the brewing process, but it typically contains between 3 and 7 percent alcohol. Ales are a type of beer that tend to be paler in color, but before the use of hops, the term “ale” referred to all malt beers.
