uremic amblyopia
Dimness or loss of vision during a uremic attack.

Toxic amblyopia
Amblyopia due to the effect of alcohol, tobacco, lead, drugs, or other toxic substances.

Strabismic amblyopia
Amblyopia secondary to malalignment of the eyes. In this condition, the brain suppresses the visual image from the deviating eye to prevent double vision. About 50% of childhood amblyopia is strabismic.

Refractive amblyopia
Unequal vision resulting from large refractive errors between the two eyes.

Amblyopia ex anopsia
Amblyopia resulting from disuse. It usually occurs in one eye and is associated with convergent squint or very poor visual acuity. The inhibition of vision in an eye with strabismus.

Deprivation amblyopia
Amblyopia resulting from nonuse of the eye. It is usually secondary to an organic problem such as cataract or ptosis.

Crossed amblyopia
Amblyopia of one eye with hemianesthesia of the opposite side of the face.

Amblychromasia
The state in which the cell nucleus stains faintly.

Amber codon
The nucleic acid sequence: uracil, adenine, guanine (abbreviated UAG). It is one of the three codons that signals the end of transcription of an mRNA molecule.

Uremic amaurosis
Amaurosis caused by acute renal failure.
