  • Aqueous flare

    During slit lamp examination of the eye, an abnormal appearance of the beam of light as it travels through the anterior chamber. It is found in patients with anterior uveitis and in those with inflammation present anteriorly.  

  • Aqueous chambers

    Anterior chambers of the eye, which contain the aqueous humor. The anterior and posterior chambers of the eye, containing the aqueous humor.  

  • Aqueductus vestibuli

    Small passage reaching from the vestibule to the posterior surface of the temporal bone’s petrous section.  

  • Aqueductus fallopii

    Canal for facial nerve in the temporal bone.  

  • Aqueductus cochleae

    Canal connecting subarachnoid space and the perilymphatic space of the cochlea.  

  • Aqueductus cerebri

    Canal in the midbrain connecting the third and fourth ventricles.  

  • Aqueductus

    A canal or channel.  

  • Vestibular aqueduct

    Small passage reaching from the vestibule to the posterior surface of the temporal bone’s petrous section.  

  • Aquatic therapy

    Exercises performed in or underwater for conditioning or rehabilitation (e.g., in injured athletes or patients with joint diseases).  

  • Aqua running

    A form of low impact aerobic exercise for conditioning or for recovery from weight-bearing injuries to the limbs. Aqua running typically takes place in a pool, may involve repetitive movements of both the legs and the arms, and is often undertaken in a supervised class.
