  • Duet reading

    Reading aloud simultaneously by two people, one of whom is learning or relearning to read, and the other who is the teacher or role model.  

  • Due care

    The kind of care that a competent, responsible, and interested provider will give to an individual in need.  

  • Aberrant ductule

    One of a group of small tubules associated with the epididymis. They end blindly, representing the vestigial remains of the caudal group of mesonephric tubules.  

  • Duct of rivinus

    One of 5 to 15 ducts (the minor sublingual ducts) that drain the posterior portion of the sublingual gland.  

  • Ductogram

    Injection of radiographic contrast into a duct of the breast, to determine the cause of nipple discharge.  

  • Duction

    In ophthalmology, the rotation of an eye about an axis. This movement is controlled by the action of the extraocular muscles,  

  • Ductile

    Capable of being elongated without breaking. Able to be extended into a wire-like form.  

  • Duct ectasia

    An inflammatory condition of the lactiferous ducts of the breast. There is nipple discharge, nipple inversion, and periareolar sepsis. This may occur at any age following menarche. The condition resembles carcinoma of the breast.  

  • Utriculosaccular duct

    A narrow tube emanating from the utricle, connecting it to the saccule, and opening into the endolymphatic duct of the inner ear.  

  • Thyroglossal duct

    A duct that in the embryo connects the thyroid diverticulum with the tongue. It eventually disappears, its point of origin being indicated as a pit, the foramen cecum. It sometimes persists as an anomaly.
