  • Duodenography

    Radiographic examination of the duodenum.  

  • Duodenogram

    A radiograph of the duodenum after it has been filled with a contrast medium.  

  • Duodenoenterostomy

    The formation of a passage between the duodenum and the intestine. A procedure that establishes a link between the duodenum and another segment of the small intestine.  

  • Duodenocholedochotomy

    Surgical incision of the duodenum to gain access to the common bile duct.  

  • Duodenocholecystostomy

    Surgical formation of a passage between the duodenum and the gallbladder.  

  • Duodenectomy

    Excision of part or all of the duodenum. The surgical removal of a portion or the entirety of the duodenum.  

  • Duodenal delay

    Delay in the movement of food through the duodenum due to conditions such as inflammation of the lower portion of the intestine, which reflexly inhibits duodenal movements  

  • Shifting dullness

    A mobile area of decreased resonance found during percussion of a body part as the body changes position. The finding suggests that fluid is contained within a body cavity and that it moves with gravity.  

  • Dullness

    The state of being dull. Reduced resonance detected during percussion over a region affected by pneumonia, lung collapse, or fluid accumulation in the pleural cavity.  

  • Duffy system

    A blood group consisting of two antigens determined by allelic genes.
