  • Photogenic epilepsy

    Convulsive attacks that occur as a result of intermittent light stimulus.  

  • Lennox-Gastaut syndrome epilepsy

    Epilepsy with onset in early childhood. This type of epilepsy is characterized by a variety of seizure patterns and an abnormal electroencephalogram, and is frequently associated with developmental and mental retardation. Seizures are not controlled by the usual antiepileptic drugs; however, adjunctive therapy with felbamate may be beneficial.  

  • Intractible epilepsy

    Epilepsy that cannot be controlled by two or more anticonvulsant drugs.  

  • Epilemma

    The neurilemma of small branches of nerve filaments.  

  • Epilate

    To extract the hair by the roots. Eliminating hair by targeting and destroying its roots.  

  • Epigastrorrhaphy

    Suture of an abdominal wound in the epigastric area.  

  • Epigastric reflex

    Contraction of the upper portion of the rectus abdominis muscle when the skin of the epigastric region is scratched.  

  • Epigallocatechin gallate

    A polyphenol compound present in green tea that inhibits the growth of cancer cells in the laboratory. Its effect on patients with cancer is unknown.  

  • Epifolliculitis

    Inflammation of the hair follicles of the scalp.  

  • Epiduroscopy

    The insertion of a fiberoptic scope into the epidural space that surrounds the spinal cord to diagnose and treat chronic back pain.
