Cancer nest
A mass of cells extending from a common center seen in cancerous growths.

Nest
A small cluster of unusual cells found within normal tissue. A diminutive and flat, circular vessel made from pastry, meringue, mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or similar substances, filled with a suitable food item such as ice cream, creamed chicken, and so on.

Nesidioblastosis
Diffuse hyperplasia of the beta cells in the islets of Langerhans of the pancreas. It is a rare cause of hypoglycemia.

Nervus nervorum
Nerve fibers that innervate sheaths of nerves.

Nervus intermedius
A branch of the facial nerve consisting principally of sensory fibers.

Nervus erigens
A bundle of parasympathetic autonomic fibers originating from the 2nd to 4th sacral nerves and passing to terminal ganglia from which postganglionic fibers pass to the pelvic organs (bladder, colon, rectum, prostate gland, seminal vesicles, external genitalia).

Breakdown tissue
Tissue that makes up the nervous system, including neurons and neuroglia.

Nervone
A cerebroside present in brain tissue. It contains nervonic acid.

Preganglionic nerve fiber
A nerve fiber of the autonomic nervous system that terminates and synapses in one of the autonomic ganglia. Its cell body lies in the brain or spinal cord.

Decussating nerve fiber
An axon that crosses from one side of the central nervous system to the other.
