Adherent pericardium
A condition in which fibrous bands form between the two serous layers of the pericardium, obliterating the pericardial cavity.

Uremic pericarditis
Pericarditis associated with end-stage renal failure or hemodialysis. It indicates the need for more frequent or more intensive dialysis.

Serofibrinous pericarditis
Pericarditis in which there is a considerable quantity of serous exudate but little fibrin.

Pericarditis obliterans
Pericardial inflammation causing adhesions and obliteration of the pericardial cavity.

Neoplastic pericarditis
Pericarditis due to invasion of the pericardium by cancer.

Ischemic pericarditis
Pericarditis resulting from myocardial infarction.

Acute nonspecific pericarditis.

Hemorrhagic pericarditis
Pericarditis in which the exudate contains blood.

Fibrinous pericarditis
Pericarditis in which the membrane is covered with a butter-like exudate that organizes and unites the pericardial surfaces.

External pericarditis
Inflammation of the exterior surface of the pericardium.
