Appendage

Attached secondary part; for example, a projection or a hanging part or supplement.

Any superadded part.

A part of the body or piece of tissue which hangs down from another part.

A small lobe or projection from any plant organ, for example, from a petal or stamen, sometimes with no evident function.

Something attached or appended. The cecal appendage is the vermiform appendix, commonly called simply the appendix.

Anything attached to a larger or major body part, such as a tail or a limb.

A supplementary tissue component that affixes to a primary structure is referred to as an appendage. An auricular appendage, for instance, denotes a minor piece of tissue connected in proximity to the ear, which can be present since birth.
