Amylin

Hormone released by the pancreatic ß cells with insulin in response to a glucose signal. It acts in concert with insulin to coordinate the rate of glucose appearance and disappearance in the blood. Amylin is a small peptide having 37 amino acid residues. In healthy adults plasma amylin concentrations range from 4 pmols/L to 25 pmol/L.

A peptide made of 37 amino acids that is secreted at the same time as insulin by the beta cells of the pancreas. It is secreted along with insulin in response to a meal.
