Administrative psychiatry

The branch of psychiatry that deals with the organization of mental health services in a program, a hospital, or another facility. Its focus is on management and leadership and concerns the interaction of administration, clinical care, and the attitudes, values, and belief systems of the organization.


The branch of psychiatry that deals with the organization of the efforts of many people in clinical practice, in a program, or in a hospital or other facility, to provide care and treatment. Its focus is on the management process formed by the interaction of health administration, clinical care of psychiatric patients, program elements, and the mental health organization itself with the attitudes, values, and belief systems of the environment in which the structure exists.
