Drugs, usually depressants, that increase the likelihood that a person will talk without inhibition. Used in psychotherapy or interrogation.
One of several hypnotic drugs supposedly having the effect of causing a person on questioning to talk freely and without inhibition. In actual practice, serum is not given, but a short acting barbiturate or benzodiazepine is given intravenously. The reliability of the information obtained is questionable.
