Releasing factors

Hormones produced by the hypothalamus that control the release of hormones from the pituitary gland.


A substance produced in the hypothalamus which encourages the release of hormones.


A cluster of hormones generated by the hypothalamus in the brain, which prompt the secretion of additional hormones, is referred to as releasing hormones. An example of such a releasing factor is luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone.
