Pelvic cavity

The lowermost portion of the abdominal cavity that contains the rectum, urinary bladder, and in the female, the internal reproductive organs.

A space below the abdominal cavity, above the pelvis.

The bony hollow formed by the innominate bones, the sacrum, and the coccyx. The major pelvic cavity lies between the iliac fossae and above the iliopectineal lines. The minor pelvic cavity lies below the iliopectineal lines.

The pelvic cavity refers to the region of the body situated below the abdomen, enclosed by the pelvic bones and lower spine. Within this cavity, one can find the lower digestive and urinary organs, a significant portion of the reproductive organs in females, and a portion of the reproductive system in males.
