The lips of the vaginal opening that protect the female’s external genitalia. The outer, thicker folds, which have hair and sweat glands, are called the labia majora. The thinner, inner folds, called the labia minora, form the hood over the clitoris.
The labia majora and labia minora are the outer and inner lip-like folds of skin surrounding the entrance to the vagina.
