A general term used to describe the surface referencing of a scanned point cloud resulting in a 3D object typically composed of triangular faces. A mesh object has no true curvature. The appearance of curvature is achieved by increasing the number of faces (level of detail).
A prosthetic patch or fabric used to repair or reinforce hernias, burns, and other defects. A split-thickness skin graft may be formed into a mesh which may be applied to a burn or other cutaneous defects requiring extensive covering.
