Agave

Fleshy-leafed desert plants, including the “century plant” that blooms every 10 years. Agave also known as False Aloe and Rattlesnake-Master.


Multiple types of large flora native to regions of Mexico and Central America possess pointed and succulent foliage. Several of these plant species are utilized in the production of alcoholic beverages such as mescal, pulque, and tequila. The various vernacular names for this plant include aloe, maguey, and century plant.
