Characterized by a combination of discomfort with, and reduced capacity for, close relationships and cognitive or perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior. Possible manifestations include odd beliefs or magical thinking inconsistent with cultural norms; unusual perceptual experiences including bodily illusions; odd thinking and speech; no (or only one) close friends because of lack of desire, discomfort with others, or eccentricities; and persisting, excessive social anxiety that tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative judgments about oneself. The icd-10 lists schizotypal personality disorder as an axis i disorder (schizotypal disorder) associated with schizophrenia, not as a personality disorder (axis ii).
