Veldt sore

A condition frequently found in the African desert, as well as in Australia and Burma. It is characterized by multiple shallow, persistent, and painful sores that develop on the exposed skin of light-skinned individuals, typically following minor injuries like insect bites. Sunlight exposure is required to trigger the disease, and secondary bacterial infections often occur. This condition is also known as Barcoo disease, desert sore, or septic sore.
