Referred to as foot-and-mouth disease in animals, this viral ailment can be transmitted to humans. The incubation period ranges from two to five days and begins with mild symptoms like a slight headache, a slightly elevated body temperature, and dryness in the mouth. This is followed by a phase of increased salivation and the appearance of blisters on the lips and tongue. It is also known as aphtha epizootica or epidemic stomatitis.
