Witche’s milk

A newborn infant may experience a thin, white discharge from their nipple, which is caused by maternal hormones passing into the baby’s bloodstream through the placenta. This phenomenon, known as “witches’ milk,” is quite common. It often coincides with the enlargement of one or both of the baby’s breasts. Fortunately, this condition is harmless and typically resolves on its own within a few weeks.
