Triple X syndrome

A set of characteristics that can manifest in females as a result of inheriting three female sex chromosomes (XXX) instead of the typical two. This anomaly arises due to errors in the division of either the egg or sperm cells from one parent.

The characteristics associated with triple X syndrome can exhibit considerable variability. While some cases might not display evident indicators, more significantly impacted females could experience developmental delays in speech and motor abilities. Their IQ might be lower compared to siblings, and behavioral issues such as tantrums or shyness might arise. Adult women with this syndrome might exhibit above-average height but demonstrate typical sexual development and fertility.
