Indian medicine

Indian medicine, also known as Ayurveda, is a system of medicine that was originally largely based on herbal treatments, but also incorporated simple surgical techniques. It evolved into a scientifically grounded system that incorporates a wide variety of surgical techniques (such as procedures for cataracts and kidney stones), as well as a focus on purification methods, diet, yoga, breathing exercises, and its foundational herbal tradition. Ayurveda has been effectively used to address a range of conditions, including digestive issues, rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, viral infections, and anxiety-related conditions like insomnia.
