Photoconjunctivitis

The inflammation of the conjunctiva, known as conjunctival edema, occurs when the delicate membrane that covers the surface of the eye becomes swollen due to prolonged or excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation. This condition is commonly referred to as photokeratitis or ultraviolet keratitis. It is characterized by the swelling and redness of the conjunctiva, leading to discomfort, pain, and sensitivity to light.
