Non-myeloablative allogeneic bone marrow transplant

Referred to as “mini” bone marrow transplants as well, this particular method of bone marrow transplantation entails the administration of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at low dosages, followed by the infusion of a donor’s bone marrow or peripheral stem cells. The primary objective is to suppress the patient’s own bone marrow using mild chemotherapy and radiation therapy, thereby facilitating the successful engraftment of the donor’s cells.
