Latch-on

During the act of breastfeeding, the infant initiates a sequence wherein they consciously open their mouth to a considerable extent. Subsequently, they generate negative pressure on the mother’s nipple, followed by the application of positive pressure. A successful latch-on is essential to facilitate the sufficient conveyance of milk into the baby’s oral cavity while also preventing the occurrence of discomfort or pain in the mother’s nipples.
