A birth-related abnormality of the male reproductive organ in which the opening of the urinary tract is not located at the tip of the glans penis.
Hypospadias is a birth defect of the penis where the urethral opening is located on the underside of the penis’ head or shaft, instead of at the tip. In certain instances, the penis may also curve downwards, a situation referred to as chordee. Typically, hypospadias can be rectified through surgical procedures.
