Angostura

A herbal and spirit-based concoction that originated in Venezuela during the last century was initially developed for medicinal purposes. However, in modern times, this blend has evolved into a popular ingredient in various culinary and beverage preparations. In particular, this mixture is now primarily produced in Trinidad, using a rum base. Its uses include adding flavor and depth to a variety of alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails such as the Old Fashioned and Pink Gin. Despite its evolution from a medicinal compound to a culinary and beverage ingredient, the exact composition of this mixture is not specified in this context.
