Precognition

Prior knowledge that an event will occur acquired pre-rationally.


The belief that there is a form of telepathy in which the person receiving can somehow apprehend the message that the transmitting person has not yet sent and does not even know but will shortly. The theory arises from statistical analysis of the results of telepathy experiments in which there was found to be a significant better-than-chance correlation between the receiver’s guesses and the subject of the transmitter’s next message before the transmitter knew what it was to be.
