Marjolin ulcer

A carcinoma that grows at the site of a chronic wound (e.g., a nonhealing scar or burn). The tumor is most often a squamous cell carcinoma and often metastasizes.

An ulcer that arises from the cancerous transformation of a persistent or dormant ulcer or scar, particularly one that originated from an old burn or radiation exposure.
