Photochemotherapy

A form of treatment in which deliberate exposure to a photosensitizing drug and ultraviolet light benefits certain skin diseases, particularly psoriasis and T-cell lymphoma. A psoralen is the photoactive agent which reacts with longwave ultraviolet light (UVA), giving the acronym, PUVA therapy.


The use of light and chemicals together to treat certain conditions, such as psoriasis or cutaneous T cell lymphoma.


A therapy involving the combination of ultraviolet A (UVA) light and medication for the treatment of psoriasis.
