Treadmill exercise score

A method for giving a numeric value (ranging from -25 to -1-15) to the response of an individual’s heart to exercise, based on the individual’s performance on a treadmill exercise test, taking into account the duration of exercise, the electrocardiogram taken during the exercise, and the degree of angina (chest pain) which develops. An interesting use of the score is that it reportedly can discriminate between those patients for whom cardiac catheterization would give further useful information, and those for whom no added information could be expected from the further testing. Sometimes called the Bonow test.
