A branch of internal medicine which deals with diseases and disorders of the respiratory (breathing) system. One of the medical specialties for which residency programs have been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
The function of the hospital (or other facility) which procures necessary items, both durable (from beds to CAT scanners) and nondurable (dressings, needles, etc.).
