Promazine

A major tranquilizer used to relieve agitation, confusion, severe pain, anxiety, nausea, and vomiting and in the treatment of alcoholism and drug withdrawal symptoms. It is administered by mouth or injection; common side-effects are drowsiness and dizziness.


A medication of the phenothiazine class, commonly used as a sedative, may have side effects such as unusual facial and limb movements, sleepiness, low energy, constipation, dry mouth, and unclear vision. Prolonged use could potentially lead to Parkinson’s-like symptoms.
