A skin-colored or dusky blue, firm, ball-like swelling of the skin; also known as a glomangioma. Glomus tumors are usually extremely tender and tend to occur under the fingernails. They contain many blood vessels and glomus cells (smooth muscle cells). Treatment is through surgical removal.
