Collimator

A device that channels radiation by blocking it except for a specific aperture. This device might limit the radiation field during a diagnostic examination so that it does not extend beyond the film. A collimator is also used to restrict the radiation received by a gamma camera to that emitted from a specific area in the patient.

A radiographic device used to limit the scatter and extent of the x-ray beam.

A particular variation of a radiation constrainer takes the form of a rectangular contraption, resembling a box, equipped with dual sets of adaptable diaphragms. These diaphragms are positioned one above the other, aligning with the upper and lower openings of a cone. They can be manipulated to expand or contract, facilitating customization of the rectangular dimensions as per specific requirements.
