Duodenitis

Inflammation of the duodenum (the first part of the small intestine into which the stomach empties). In some cases, duodenitis has no symptoms. Sometimes, there may be discomfort in the upper abdomen, indigestion, nausea, or vomiting.

Inflammation of the duodenum, usually resulting from Helicobacter pylori or the use of alcohol, tobacco, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Duodenitis is a condition characterized by the inflammation of the duodenum, which is the initial segment of the small intestine. This disorder typically presents with nonspecific gastrointestinal complaints. Its diagnosis is established through a medical procedure known as esophagogastroduodenoscopy, which involves inspecting the lining of the upper part of the digestive system using a bendable viewing device. The therapeutic approach for managing duodenitis closely resembles that employed for treating a duodenal ulcer.
