Stone formed in any part of the urinary system (kidney, ureter, bladder); some are small enough to pass in the urine, with or without pain; others must be removed surgically; also called kidney stone; renal calculus.
A stone formed in the urinary tract, but usually found in the renal pelvis and/or kidney calyces. These vary in composition but may contain urates, calcium, oxalate, calcium carbonate, phosphates, and cystine.
