Stomatitis

Oral inflammation and ulcers, may be mild and localized or severe, widespread, and painful.


Inflammation of the mucosal tissues of the oral cavity.


Inflammation of the oral mucosa, due to local or systemic factors which may involve the buccal and labial mucosa, palate, tongue, floor of the mouth, and the gingivae.


An inflammatory condition of the mouth; it may result from vitamin deficiency, infection, exposure to irritating substances, or systemic diseases.

Inflammation of the mucus lining of the mouth. In aphthous stomatitis small painful white ulcers form on the cheeks, tongue, and gums. Other types are due to infection by fungi or bacteria or to vitamin deficiencies (angular stomatitis), which may cause splitting and cracking of the lips.


Inflammation of the mouth (including the lips, tongue, and mucous membranes).


The inflammation of the oral cavity’s lining, including the mouth, gums, or tongue.
