Pesticide poisoning

Toxic condition brought on by ingestion or inhalation of a pesticide.

A chemical injury caused by exposure to substances intended to kill insects or vermin. Pesticide poisoning can occur in people who handle or are otherwise exposed to the chemicals used to kill insects. Exposure to pesticides can involve the skin, particularly of those who handle the chemicals while applying them to target areas; people may be exposed to pesticides by breathing the fumes; and exposure can occur when people smoke, eat, or drink around pesticides or do not wash their hands after using pesticides. Hands and forearms are most vulnerable to exposure, but the eyes, abdomen, and groin absorb pesticides most quickly.
