Hamate bone

Wrist (carpal) bone that projects a hook-shaped (hamate) part on its palmar surface, in line with the fourth and fifth fingers.


A hook-shaped bone of the wrist. It articulates with the pisiform and triquetral bones behind and with the fourth and fifth metacarpal bones in front.


The most medical wrist (carpal) bone in the distal row. It has a hooked process on its palmar side. The hamate articulates with the 4th and 5th metacarpals.
