Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty

A surgical operation to remove the uvula and other soft tissue in the palate, in order to widen the airways and treat the problem of snoring.


A procedure for surgically removing excess tissue at the back of the throat to expand the airway and improve certain sleep disorder symptoms such as obstructive sleep apnea and disruptive snoring.


Surgery to excise the uvula, part of the soft palate and the tonsil. It is done to help people with severe snoring problems but it does not always achieve a cure.


Plastic surgery of the oropharynx in which redundant soft palate, uvula, pillars, fauces, and sometimes posterior pharyngeal wall mucosa are removed. The procedure may be done by using laser therapy. It is usually done to correct intractable snoring or sleep apnea.


Surgical intervention known as uvulopalatopharyngoplasty involves the removal of excessive tissue located at the back of the throat. This procedure aims to prevent the obstruction of the airway during sleep, ensuring uninterrupted breathing and preventing potential complications.
