Carrot seed essential oil is the essential oil which has been derived from the dried seeds of wild carrot through steam distillation. Scientifically, it is called Daucus Carota. Its vital components are Alpha Pinene, Gamma Terpinene, Beta Pinene, Limonene, Sabinene, Camphene, Myrcene, Geranyl Acetate, Beta Bisabolene and Carotol. It is also known as Queen Anne’s lace and Wild Carrot. The color of the oil is yellowish brown. The oil has got woody, earthy and warm aroma. Carrot seed essential oil helps to lubricate cells inside the outermost layer of skin. It assists in restoration of moisture which could be loosed due to evaporation.
