Canola is an annual, herbaceous plant that can reach 3 to 6 feet high with a slender erect, glabrous, stem arising from taproot, stem sparsely branching above. Sodic and dispersing soils that surface seal will significantly reduce emergence of canola seedlings. Canola has oval-shaped, bluish-green leaves that partially clasp the stem. History
The center of origin of Brassica napus is uncertain but is regarded to be in Mediterranean Europe.
