    How to Increase Endurance at the Gym

    If you’re out of shape or simply unpracticed, you may find that you have lower endurance during your workouts than you would typically like to have. Low endurance means that you won’t be able to push yourself as hard as you’d like to, and consequently, this makes it difficult for you to reach your personal fitness goals. If this is something you’re struggling with, don’t worry as there are simple tips you can follow to increase your endurance and have the workout and results you desire.

    Stay Hydrated

    This is possibly the most important tip, as dehydration will not only lower your endurance but can also pose serious health risks, especially if you are sweating and losing water. When you drink water, your heart functions better, increasing the endurance and overall health of your muscles, meaning that you can push yourself further. It is important that you work out how much water you need for your weight, as men who weigh more typically need more water to keep them hydrated, and a lack thereof can make them extremely lethargic and decrease performance levels.

    Have Short Periods of Rest

    If you truly want to build up your endurance so that you can exercise for longer periods of time, you need to ensure that you reduce the amount of time you give yourself to rest between each exercise. By shortening your rest periods, you will be testing your body to see exactly how long it can exercise for without needing to take a break, and eventually will be able to cut down on breaks altogether. One of the best ways to do this is by starting out with your usual break durations and cutting it down by a couple of seconds every time you break. Make sure that you do this gradually so that you don’t overwork your muscles before they are fully recovered from the last exercise. Remember though, your muscles need to rest, so make sure that you have plenty of rest days after your intensive workouts.

    Combine Strength and Cardio

    Everyone knows that one of the best ways to increase your endurance is by taking part in plenty of cardio exercises, but there is a way in which you can speed up the effects these exercises have. Adapt your usual cardio routine to include some strength-based exercises that will help to tone and build your muscles – after all, if your muscles are not up to shape your endurance will suffer greatly. Combine your usual runs with exercises such as push-ups and squats dispersed throughout the run to ensure that your muscles are getting the workout they need.

    Make Use of Supplements and Other Medicines

    One of the reasons that you may be struggling with increasing your endurance is that you may be lacking in certain vitamins and minerals that would help your body to function well. One of the best ways to help increase your endurance is by taking caffeine. Whilst this can be found in drinks like coffee and tea, taking capsules with caffeine in them may work faster and last longer, meaning that you can work out harder and faster than you would normally. Creatine can give you a large boost in your fitness and recovery abilities, ultimately increasing your endurance and is especially good for sprinters, as it can give you a last-minute burst of energy to successfully finish the sprint. If you get plenty of these supplements already, look into buying testosterone online as it is commonly used as a drug to enhance performance and quicken recovery.
