Best Oils to Integrate into Your Diet for a Healthy and Young-Looking Body

Growing old isn’t something people are comfortable with but, even though the process is irreversible, this doesn’t mean that you cannot keep your mind sharp and body strong as the years go by.

Maintaining an active lifestyle and a healthy and balanced diet can do wonders for your mind and body alike. However, it’s not only certain foods that can improve the look of your skin and help your body function better but also some oils. Let’s take a closer look at them and find the best ones for your diet.

    Extra virgin olive oil

If the youth elixir truly existed, we’re pretty sure it would look a lot like olive oil. Versatile and healthy, this type of oil can be used for cooking or directly applied to your skin. It is rich in monounsaturated fats and even in polyunsaturated fatty acids, as well as in vitamins A and E that have direct benefits on the skin.

Integrated into your daily diet, extra virgin olive oil hydrates the skin, improves the natural regeneration system, and makes your skin more elastic and healthy. However, we suggest you take a closer look at the label and only choose products that are certified organic.

Unfortunately, there are many companies selling diluted olive oil or inferior quality products which clearly won’t have the same benefits for your skin and body.

    Sesame oil

Mainly used in the Asian cuisine, sesame oil can lower the blood pressure and cholesterol levels. It has a wonderful flavor and is low in saturated fats, meaning it won’t pose a threat to your diet if used in moderation. It is also packed with vitamins and minerals that will fight against free radicals that usually cause premature skin aging.

    Coconut oil

Another wonder-miracle, coconut oil can be used for cooking, baking or can be applied directly on your skin and hair. It represents a low-calorie option for those who want to look after their weight while still enjoying some homemade sweets and treats.

Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain triglycerides that contain fewer calories than most other dietary oils. Ingested and properly absorbed into your body, coconut oil will boost the calcium and magnesium levels in your body responsible for keeping your bones and teeth strong.

Thus, it can be used by people who suffer from various age-related affections, including arthrosis and low-mobility. Speaking of arthrosis, there are millions of seniors dealing with pain and discomfort caused by it, so we recommend talking to a specialist and looking for solutions according to your level of pain and joint deterioration.

In severe cases, you might want to make some changes inside your house as well, such as considering a one-story home, replacing some of the stairs with ramps, and even investing in a life alert system for seniors that will make you feel safer in case joint pains become unbearable.

    Walnut oil

This product definitely has a distinctive smell and taste but it’s perfect for salads or adding it on top of fancy foods to enhance their unique flavor. According to medical research, consumed regularly, walnut oil can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by lowering the level of triglycerides.

It is not as accessible as olive or vegetable oil but you won’t have to use more than a few drops on fish or chicken-based dishes to get all the nutrients from it. However, specialists don’t recommend cooking with it as high temperatures destroy the fatty acids and can even make the oil dangerous to your health.

Keep in mind that all these oils should be consumed in moderation and shouldn’t replace regular visits to the doctor to make sure you are still in good health despite growing older.
